2016 results

2016 was a year where enterprises increasingly relied on data. Scandit gave companies new tools and methods for capturing and understanding data throughout the supply chain—from manufacturer, to retailer, to the end customer and every point in between. This year, we debuted new and improved versions of our mobile data capture technology. We also showcased the impact mobile data capture solutions continue to have on the enterprise across the retail, manufacturing, transportation and logistics industries.

Scandit now processes billions of scans per year from thousands of companies across the globe, including many of the world’s most prestigious brands. Here are some selected highlights from an eventful and successful year.

The Container Store Scans and Delivers with Scandit Case
In November, we announced that The Container Store successfully piloted the Scandit Case at two Manhattan stores. The Container Store used Scandit Case in conjunction with a Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK-based, consumer-facing scanning app. Shoppers scan the barcodes of products throughout the store for purchase and delivery. New Scandit Mobile Barcode Scanner SDK 5.0 Improves Performance
In October, we launched our Barcode Scanner Software Development Kit (SDK) 5.0. The new release provides retail, manufacturing and supply chain enterprises with the improved speed and performance necessary to replace dedicated barcode scanners and mobile computers with mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and wearables. Mobile Data Capture Enables Seamless Retail
In October we released a new white paper, “Enabling Seamless Retail with Mobile Data Capture.” The white paper explains how the advent of constantly connected consumers has created a new “seamless” retail environment where shoppers are directly linked to purchases. Hacking Toward the Future
In September, we joined more than 500 hackers and 50 companies from around the world to participate in HackZurich 2016. HackZurich is Europe’s largest hacking event, and this year hosted 150 teams for a 40-hour non-stop hackathon. Scandit was among the startup sponsors with a booth in the main hall that offered hackers the opportunity to use our scanning technology firsthand across mobile devices, smart glasses and AR headsets like the Microsoft Hololens to produce futuristic retail apps. New Scandit Flow Platform Optimizes Enterprise Workflows
In June, we launched Scandit Flow, a mobile data capture development platform that supports a wide variety of barcode-scanning intensive workflows across the supply chain.
