Barcode Technology Leader Expands Global Presence With Leading Brands And Taps New Strategic Sales Directors For Markets in Europe and Asia

ZURICH, Switzerland — February 5, 2015Scandit, developer of the leading software-based barcode scanning solutions for smartphones, tablets and wearable devices, today announced that it has grown sales revenues in Europe by more than 690 per cent year over year, and doubled its European customer base during the same time period. In addition to record revenue and customer growth, Scandit added a number of popular European retail and enterprise customers including: Ahold, the Netherlands-based international retailing group with more than 3,000 stores; Migros, Switzerland’s biggest employer as well as its largest retail company and supermarket chain; Coop, Switzerland’s largest wholesale company, with more than 1400 shops and 2.5 million members; Esselunga, the Italian retail store chain; and Saab, the Swedish premium car manufacturer.

The company also announced that it has expanded its growing international team with the hire of two new strategic sales directors: Paul Davis has been brought on to develop business through direct sales and indirect channels for Northern Europe and Asia and Christian Schilling has been brought on to do the same for Eastern and Southern Europe as well as all German-speaking countries.

Both Paul and Christian are heavy-hitters with deep domain experience and proven success expanding sales operations in their respective markets. Before joining Scandit, Paul Davis was the managing director of AccuRev’s international business prior to its acquisition by Micro Focus. Christian Schilling was previously head of sales and business development at Trueb, a leading provider of physical and electronic identification and payment solutions and has deep industry experience with NCR, a leading provider of traditional hardware and software solutions for the retail and hospitality industries. Combined, they bring more than 30 years of international sales, marketing and management experience working for technology and software companies.

  • LogiMAT 2015 — February 10-12 — New Stuttgart Trade Centre, Stuttgart, Germany. Scandit will be offering demos at the Track & Trace Theatre.
  • EuroCIS 2015 — February 24-26 — Düsseldorf Fairgrounds, Düsseldorf, Germany. Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit will give a presentation titled, “Cashiers to Cashless: The Rise of Mobile Self-Checkout Apps” at EuroCIS Forum Hall 10 #D04 on February 25th at 3pm. Scandit will also be offering demos at Hall 9, Stand F52.
  • Mobile World Congress — March 2-4 — Fira Barcelona Gran Via Conference Centre, Barcelona, Spain. Scandit will be offering demos at the MWC 2015 Swiss Pavilion.
