gs1 connect 2017

In June 2017, Scandit exhibited at the GS1 Connect 2017 conference for supply chain professionals held in Las Vegas, NV. Scandit’s activities included a presentation from CTO and co-founder Christian Floerkemeier, as well as a variety of advanced mobile data capture technology demonstrations.

In his presentation, “Transforming Data Capture in the Supply Chain,” Floerkemeier discussed how today’s smartphones have evolved into powerful data capture devices. He also discussed how in the supply chain, smartphones and other leading-edge devices enable users to scan multiple barcodes in a single sequence, streamlining a variety of workflows.

One new mobile data capture capability Scandit highlighted at GS1 Connect 2017 is MatrixScan. Available as a feature of Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK 5.3, MatrixScan enables users to locate, track and decode multiple barcodes at once and adds visual feedback in the user interface to indicate which barcodes have already been scanned. Scandit representatives were available to explain how enterprises can use traditional mobile devices to lower costs and streamline operations supporting core supply chain use cases such as inventory management, proof of delivery, and order picking.

Booth visitors were able to view popular demonstrations including:

A rotator that showed off how fast and consistently our barcode scanner reads a code.

The new Scandit Case for iPod Touch. The recently released Scandit Case for iPod touch is the next-generation version of the Scandit Case and features improved materials that increase ruggedness and grip. The Scandit Case works with all of Scandit’s mobile scanning solutions, provides protection during everyday activities and offers a scanning experience equivalent to handheld scanners and mobile computers at a fraction of the cost.

The latest version of Scandit Flow for iOS and Android. This update includes significant improvements to our platform that make it easier for enterprises to quickly build, deploy and manage mobile data capture solutions for key barcode scanning workflows across the supply chain.

Our Barcode Scanner SDK. This provides retailers with the speed and performance necessary to replace dedicated barcode scanners and mobile computers with more flexible and cost-effective mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets and wearables. The result: equivalent or improved scanning performance on a smart device at a fraction of the total cost of ownership (TCO) of traditional scanners.
