scanning barcode from an HDD

We’re excited to share a first look at the latest evolution of the Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK, which now brings unrivaled barcode scanning performance and accuracy to the Linux platform. The private beta release is available for commercial enterprises starting today, with expanded release to independent developers and educators scheduled for later this year. If you’re interested in joining the beta program, please contact a Scandit representative.

With our Barcode Scanner SDK for Linux, customers can combine low-cost computing platforms such as the Raspberry Pi, commodity cameras and our premium barcode scanner software to provide outstanding scanning performance that rivals the performance of the conventional, more expensive barcode imager modules offered by traditional AIDC manufacturers. Some applications for our Linux Barcode Scanner SDK include: kiosk systems, smart displays, point-of-sale terminals and reverse vending machines for the retail industry, ruggedized computing handhelds in logistics operations, and fixed barcode scanners in automation systems.

To give you a sneak preview of the beta performance and possibilities, our development team has created a short video that showcases the Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK performance for Linux on the Raspberry Pi. Check it out along with the tech specs below, and be sure to contact us if you have any questions. Enjoy!
