FoodEssentials partners with Scandit to deliver Grocery Product Data to Developers
We’re excited to announce today that the Scandit Product API now features detailed grocery product data from the folks over at FoodEssentials!
FoodEssentials offers an up-to-date, comprehensive, food label database which includes ingredients, allergen, additive and nutrient information for grocery products. Now developers using the Scandit Product API will have access to this incredibly appetizing data set. With this data you can enable your users to simply search by UPC, brand, category, allergen or additive properties to find what they’re looking for. There are a variety of apps for which product data like this is incredibly valuable:
- -dieting apps
- -health apps which identify allergens and provide food safety information
- -grocery list-making apps
- -grocery self-checkout (or home-delivery) apps
- -recipe apps
And the list goes on and on!
It’s also important to note that apps which interact with grocery products benefit greatly from adding a barcode scanner. Using Scandit, developers looking to build product-centric grocery apps can now access both their barcode scanning technology and product data in the same place.
