scanning barcode

Scandit is introducing the latest version of its Barcode Scanner SDK for Android, iOS, Windows, and other supported platforms. Among the improvements to scanning capabilities and user experience in version 5.3 is an upgraded PDF417 decoder.

Upgrading PDF417 Data Capture Performance
Scandit has improved the scan range as well as tuned the algorithm for glare situations and for PDF417 codes that are damaged or scanned at an angle. This significantly increases the decode speed.

PDF417 is used by the airline industry as the standard 2D barcode symbology for paper boarding passes. It is also the code used for RealID-compliant driver’s licenses and state-issued identification cards in the US and Canada. In transport and logistics, FedEx uses PDF417 on package labels.
