Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK Version 4.16 Released

| Product Releases

scanning barcode from an HDD

We just released the latest version of our Barcode Scanner SDK for iOS, Android, Windows and other supported platforms. This update includes significant improvements to our scanning capabilities and user experience. We recommend that you upgrade soon to take advantage of our increased performance and enhanced feature set (see release notes for details). Here are the newest features:

Faster and More Accurate Barcode Localization

We have fine-tuned our scanning engine to improve the accuracy and speed of detecting barcodes in images. This creates an overall faster barcode decoding experience for all 1D & 2D symbologies. We have also made some specific improvements in the localization and decoding of microPDF codes.

Now Supporting Postal Codes

We added support for RM4SCC (Royal Mail 4 State Customer Code). This code serves as a basis for many other postal codes. For example, RM4SCC supports the KIX code used by the Post Netherlands, for which we also added support for in 4.16.

Added Support for Xamarin.Forms

We built a Xamarin API that can be used with Xamarin.Forms to build native UIs for iOS and Android from a single C# codebase.

Testing of code samples for iOS 10 compatibility

We tested our code samples for integration with iOS 10 to make sure they will work with all mobile devices running on this platform.
