Mozilla enters the smartphone wars with new Firefox mobile OS

Mozilla officially revealed their new Firefox OS for mobile, which is built on HTML5 and designed to target consumers who cannot afford iPhones or high-end Android devices. LTE and Huawei will be the first to design handsets that come stocked with the new OS. Check it out >

Tensions between mobile carriers and over-the-top (OTT) services like Viber

Two telco chief executives, Deutsche Telekom’s Rene Obermann and KT’s Suk-Chae Lee, attacked OTT services Skype and Viber, claiming that poor regulations force the telcos to make the investment while the OTT services just hitch a ride. Viber CEO Talmon Marco fought back, highlighting the fact that users are moving towards innovation, and the telcos just aren’t keeping up. Check it out >
