What is the software licensing model of Scandit?
It is a subscription model which gives you access to the licensed Scandit product as well as regular software updates and basic technical support.
Is there a minimum number of licenses I need to commit to?
Yes, depending on who will be using the Scandit software (e.g. consumer, employee, machine), there are different minimum device levels to consider.
What factors determine the price?
Our pricing is transparent and tailored to your specific situation to make sure you only pay for features you’re actually using. For example, the license price takes the following into account:
- The number of active devices (see below for what we consider an active device)
- The product and add-on capabilities you choose
- Who will be using the software: is it an employee, a consumer or a machine?
- What is the use case that you are enabling with our software?
- Are you looking to use it for one use case or several?
Once I license Scandit, can I use it across different workflows and departments in my company?
Scandit’s license allows you to use the product for a defined use case scope. Workflows and users that are not covered by this use case scope require an additional license. If you are an OEM or an ISV we are happy to discuss custom licensing arrangements as well.
Can I scan unlimited times or do you charge for scans?
This is dependent on the use case you’re looking to enable and the scan frequency you envision.
Can I pay by Credit Card or Paypal?
Our standard is invoicing. We accept credit card payments on request (VISA, MasterCard).
How do you define ‘Active Device’?
Put simply, an active device is one that in the past 12 months has been running our scanner to power one of your use cases. To get the full details, please contact us.
Do devices that only use the scanner a few times still count towards the active device allowance?
Yes, every device that initializes the scanner at least once in the twelve month period is counted as an active device.
Can I add devices incrementally or do I need to upgrade to the next device tier?
We define tiers. If you need more devices than your current tier allows, then you jump to the next tier.
Are MatrixScan or OCR included in the basic price of the Barcode Scanner SDK or does it need to be licensed separately?
MatrixScan as well as other functionality such as OCR or the Parser are not included in the price of the basic product.
What kind of support plans do you offer?
We offer different support plans to fit your needs ranging from basic email support all the way to 24/7 phone support.
