Product Updates: 6.21 Release, SparkScan Battery Saver, Torch Control

Our recent native SDK releases introduced smart battery power management to SparkScan, bringing up to 15% improvement in battery life, as well as ScanningMode Change Detection for fine-grained control over scanning settings and performance based on the mode.

We’ve also released integrated controls for the device torch in the MatrixScan Find scanning UI.

SparkScan Battery Saver Mode

Nothing slows down a high speed scanning workflow like an out-of-power device, so we’ve added smart battery power management to SparkScan, now enabled by default and easily configurable. Simulated real-world testing scenarios showed up to 15% battery life improvement, meaning less interrupted workflows and less frustrated users.

Support for ScanningMode Change Detection

We’ve also further expanded SparkScan to include the ability to detect if and when the ScanningMode has changed, enabling you to use custom scanning settings depending on the scanning mode for even finer-grained control of scanning performance.

New Torch Control

Having every barcode easily reachable and with perfect visibility would make any workflow easy, but that’s not the real world we all have to work in. For those situations where a barcode is difficult to reach or read, you can now seamlessly integrate controls for the device torch into the scanning UI. Turn it on to get that difficult scan, then back off to continue without missing a beat.
