We have received the news that we are certified as a ‘Great Place to Work’ for a second consecutive year! The ‘Great Place to Work’ certification is the global authority on workplace culture, and it brings us pride to have been certified in no fewer than 6 countries in 2023: Switzerland, the UK, the USA, Poland, France and Italy.
Below, we take a closer look at what makes Scandit a great place to work according to ratings and impressions coming directly from our beloved Scandits.
What makes Scandit a great place to work?
Fairness and inclusion
We are proud to see that the overwhelming majority of Scandits think people here are treated fairly regardless of their race (99%), sexual orientation (98%), gender (95%) and age (93%).
Furthermore, the position one holds within the company does not trigger special treatment, according to 83% of our Scandits, and when you join the company, you are made to feel welcome (96%). We achieve this via our continuously improving onboarding period, where we focus on every detail for a smooth start.
And while the start is incredibly important, that’s not all there is. We encourage our movers and shakers who are up for new challenges further down the road. 86% of Scandits believe when people change roles or departments, they’re made to feel right at home. Plus, we make sure to highlight newcomers (Scanewbies) and those who have been here longer (Scanosaurs) alike at our monthly Scannect meetings, a company-wide opportunity to get to know each other.
All in all, it comes as no surprise that 89% of Scandits feel like they can truly be themselves here, that 89% think people care about each other here, and that 89% believe we’re all in this together.
Wellbeing and fun
At Scandit, we strive to nurture everyone’s wellbeing on multiple levels. At the most basic level, Scandits agree that this is a physically safe place to work (82%), that they are given the resources and equipment to do their jobs well (82%) and that they are supported by helpful measures to promote health (89%).
They also believe that our seven offices contribute to a good working environment (87%). With more than 400 Scandits spread across 18 countries, we are proud to be a mix of tech enthusiasts who can flexibly choose their working environment — whether they want to work in an office, fully remote, or hybrid, there’s something for everyone.
Regardless of where and how we work, we like to keep it fun! We make sure to pause and recharge on a regular basis in order to properly focus on our daily mission of giving superpowers to workers, customers and businesses.
For instance, we have monthly meals and holiday gatherings (virtual and in-person alike) — and 86% of Scandits think we celebrate special events here. We also like to mix fun with our intrinsic pioneer spirit, as evidenced by our bi-annual hackathons where we’ve kickstarted some of our smart data capture innovations.
Additionally, every year, we encourage each other to explore our adventurous selves, through MicroAdventure Days where we all clock out in search of an adrenaline rush. The year’s highlight is usually our annual team outing — we dare say no one pulls it off quite like us.
But no matter how much we like spending time with each other, we encourage Scandits to balance their work and personal lives, and prioritize spending time with their loved ones. We’re delighted to find out 92% of our Scandits feel they are able to take time off from work when they think it’s necessary, with no strings attached. Birthdays off and surprise extra days off from the company are just the icing on the cake.
All these aspects contribute to Scandit being described as a “psychologically and emotionally healthy place to work” and a place where people aren’t afraid of Mondays, partly explaining why our Scandits want to work here for a long time.
