Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK 5.7 Helps Tackle Counterfeit Products
Scandit has released the latest version of our Barcode Scanner SDK for iOS, Android, Windows and other supported platforms. Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK 5.7 offers product authentication functionality with DotCode scanning, Micro QR Code scanning capability, and improved 1D scanning performance in low contrast environments.
Upgrade soon to take advantage of our increased performance and feature set (see release notes for details). Here are some highlights of the new features included in Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK 5.7.
Verify product authenticity with DotCodes
DotCode symbology is ideal for high-speed printing scenarios when unique codes with expiration date or serial number are required. For enterprises using DotCode symbology to help tackle product counterfeiting, Scandit now effortlessly decodes tiny DotCodes in various demanding conditions, as you can see in the video above.
Micro QR Code scanning functionality added
The Barcode Scanner SDK can now read Micro QR codes, a symbology that can only handle 35 characters but takes up much less space than traditional QR codes. When space is at a premium, enterprises can easily fit Micro QR codes on items such as business cards, websites or small product tags and Scandit technology can read them quickly and reliably. Watch the video above to see this.
Improved scanning performance on 1D codes in low contrast
Scanning barcodes in low-contrast scenarios with a built-in smart device camera can be tricky. Scandit has achieved even better scanning performance of 1D barcodes when there is little contrast between the code and the background.
